Club Reopening 18:00 Friday 11 December

December 8th 2020

Dear member,

I hope this finds you well and in good spirits as Christmas approaches. We’ll all be glad to see the back of 2020 and with a vaccination programme being rolled out, there’s something to look forward to in the coming weeks and year ahead. And as you’ll see in this email, we’ve got lots on offer at the baths over the festive season.

DIVE IN!

The First Minister confirmed lockdown restrictions are to be eased, meaning gyms and pools will be allowed to reopen. I am particularly pleased to tell you that we’ll be back up and running from 6.00pm this Friday 11 December. Obviously things aren’t completely normal yet, so please remind yourself of our safe use rules as they’ll still apply when we re-open.

NATURIST NIGHTS

Our regular naturist swimming sessions will return (for club members only) from Sunday 13 December. They will start a little later at 7.30pm each Sunday night. The gym will operate as usual, but from that time, costumes won’t be worn around the pond, showers or Turkish Suite.

FREE TREATS

An early Christmas treat as a thank you for your loyalty! We’re offering you £10 to spend in the club at your leisure. You can collect your voucher from the Poolside Office. Use it to buy any of our merchandise, including tote bags and tea towels, goggles and swim caps, cards and commemorative mugs or something from our Arran Aromatics range. And of course, once restrictions are lifted, you may want to use your voucher to celebrate with a couple of pals over a tea, coffee, soft drink, wine or beer in our Members Lounge.

SANTA’S SURPRISE

Lockdown restrictions mean there won’t be a children’s Christmas party this year, but our Chairman’s mammy Jean has been busy with the knitting needles again and there’s a free lucky dip Christmas box in the Poolside Office full of presents for Junior Members. Our stocks are very limited, so get in early to avoid disappointment and please only take a gift if you have a young family member.

CHRISTMAS CUPPA

Pick up an ideal stocking filler! Our talented Treasurer Tim Pearson has designed and made lots of new mugs featuring the traditional hand painted signs around the pond. They are £7.50 each, or save yourself a couple of quid and buy a set of 3 for just £20. All proceeds go to our restoration fund.

FESTIVE APPEAL

Our member Conor McGeady has been telling us all about the support Drumchapel Foodbank offers to people in need from all over Glasgow. His family has been heavily involved since it was set up and he asked if our members might like to help. If you want to donate, we’ll act as a drop off point on the weekend of Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th December. You can leave food items such as canned meals, soups and vegetables, dried pasta & pasta sauces, breakfast cereals, cosmetic items and toiletries, baby products & nappies. The charity also accepts vouchers for Amazon and other retailers that are given to clients with families to allow them the choice and dignity of buying their children their own Christmas presents. There’s more information about their work on their Facebook page.

BEST WISHES

And last but not least, all the very best to you and yours from our team for Christmas and the year ahead.
