Clubbing Together - Ruby & Martyn

April 2nd 2020

“Knowing that on the other side of this, we can walk back into the warm welcome of the baths is really important to us.”

Ruby & Martyn
We’re asking people what they love about the baths. Having joined last September, Ruby Alden-Gibson and Martyn Cook are amongst our newest members. Books and bathing go hand in hand for them. And as full time Trade Unionists, they’re sticking with us to support our staff...

It’s only been six months, but even in that short time, stepping though the doors into the robust Victorian oasis of health and serenity is a crucial part of our weekly routine. Whether it’s washing away the night before, lazing in the Turkish suite with books that have been sitting in our ‘to read’ pile for way too long, or simply trying to kick ourselves in to shape in the gym, we always look forward to our next visit. Unfortunately, that won’t be for some time. We will of course get by - soaking those headaches away in our own bathtub, plenty time to read and even the odd workout in our living room. While everyone’s primary concern is of course for the safety of our community, we also need something to look froward to. Knowing that on the other side of this, we can walk back into the warm welcome of the baths is really important to us. That’s why we’ll keep paying our membership over the coming months. We want to support the staff and ensure our short time as members won’t come to end, but will continue for many more years to come. That’s why we’re sticking with you.

If you’d like to share why you joined and why you’ll stick with us, send words and pictures to info@arlingtonbaths.co.uk
