Fouzia Zafar's work shown here is based on the lower showers in the Baths. You may also have seen two more 'Needle Showers' and 'Tickle Showers 2' in the Arlington Fundraising Exhibition.
Fouzia is now exhibiting more of her work at the Glasgow Print Studio including 'Waterfall, Arlington Baths' which was recently exhibited at the Royal Scottish Academy.
As a child, Fouzia was born just around the corner from the Baths and it remained an inaccessible curiosity throughout her childhood. Having ‘grown up’, and become a member of the Baths she was inspired by the quirkiness of the objects, spaces and histories that lie behind the walls of the Arlington. Like many of the inhabitants of the city it has provided an oasis from everyday life.
